Cancellation Policy

How cancellations are handled for NorthNest Holidays journeys.

How cancellations work

This policy explains how cancellations are handled for holidays planned or booked through NorthNest Holidays. It is a general guide. Each confirmed booking or quotation may contain specific cancellation terms, and those terms govern that booking.

We do not publish a single cancellation-percentage slab for all journeys, because hotel, airline and supplier rules differ.

If you cancel

You may ask us to cancel an enquiry, quotation or confirmed booking at any time. Please send the request to NorthNest in writing by WhatsApp, email or our Contact page, and include your name and booking or quotation reference if you have one.

The effective date and time of cancellation is when we receive that written request during working hours, or the next working day if it arrives later. We will then check the applicable supplier and booking terms and tell you what happens next.

If a supplier cancels

A hotel, transport provider, activity operator or destination partner may sometimes cancel or be unable to honour a service. If that happens, we will tell you as soon as we reasonably can and discuss a suitable alternative or the effect on your booking.

Airline cancellations and schedule changes

Airline cancellations, delays and schedule changes follow the airline’s rules. NorthNest is not the airline. Where flights form part of your booking, we will help you understand the options the airline makes available and how they affect the rest of the journey.

Hotel, transport and activity cancellations

Hotels, transfers and activities each have their own cancellation rules. Some rates are flexible; others become non-refundable after purchase or after a certain point. The terms that apply are those of the relevant supplier and any terms stated in your quotation or booking confirmation.

Circumstances beyond reasonable control

Journeys can be affected by weather, landslides, political unrest, government restrictions, strikes, health emergencies or other events beyond reasonable control. In those cases, we will work with you and the relevant suppliers on the options that are actually available, which may include a change of plan rather than a cancellation.

Changes versus cancellation

A date change, hotel change or itinerary revision is not the same as a cancellation. Some suppliers allow changes; others treat a change as a cancellation and a new booking. We will explain the effect of a requested change before it is made, based on the booking and supplier terms.

Cancellation and refunds

Whether any amount can be refunded after a cancellation depends on the booking-specific terms and on what the relevant suppliers refund to NorthNest. Please see our Refund Policy. A cancellation request does not by itself create a right to a full refund.
